Long before I knew that Professional Organizing was a career path, I was coming up with systems to make things run smoother in peoples homes and businesses and for events like weddings, funerals, garage sales and moving. I’m always looking for solutions to problems-so much so that I have to remind myself that someone telling me that something is driving them crazy isn’t always an invitation to start brainstorming new ways to make it work better…

I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart since 1994 and we have 3 adult children. We knew before we got married that we wanted to home school our kids. Taking on that task required a huge amount of organization: of time, supplies, curriculum choices, plans of study, and paperwork...and an orderly home to help our days run smoother. During that time I also worked for people as a house cleaner which, in every case, also turned into organizing spaces in their home. As my kids got older I collaborated with other families in my area to start a hybrid education program for children pre-K through 12th grade who were home schooled, for which I was the director. The experiences I had there were invaluable as I ordered and managed all of the different aspects of that huge program.

My children are close in age, so within three years I went from being a full time homeschool mom of three to all three graduating and going on to college, effectively putting me out of a job! Once they were in college, I decided it was time to pass on the running of the hybrid program to other people and was faced with the question: ‘What comes next?!’ I started doing a bit of research and, to my delight, discovered professional organizing.

Organizing is something that I love to do: I love getting to know people, figuring out what they want accomplished, and helping them achieve their vision; I love researching and implementing new solutions; I love taking a drab, unusable space and transforming it into a beautiful, functional one; I love alleviating the stress of an event by taking over the logistics so that the people involved can pay attention and participate in their day. Most of all I love the relief and joy people have expressed after I have helped them make sense of something that was causing them stress.

We don’t all enjoy the same things! If you want your spaces to be more functional and beautiful or your events to run smoothly, but you feel overwhelmed at the thought of taking on those tasks yourself, give me a call! I would love to help you realize your vision and relieve some of the stress that space or event is causing you.
